A manufacturing operating environment with recurring administrative and cross-system processes supporting day-to-day operations.
The business had functioning processes, but too many of them depended on individual employees repeatedly carrying information from one step to another.
The problem
People had become the middleware.
Information had to be copied, checked, transferred or reconciled manually before the next step could happen. This increased operating effort and meant predictable workflows still competed for employee attention every day.
Our approach
Sahla broke each process into triggers, actions, rules and exceptions.
Stable and repeatable steps were automated. Human approval or judgement remained where it genuinely added value. Integrations were introduced where systems needed to exchange information without manual re-entry.
The results
The manufacturing engagement became part of Sahla's broader production automation portfolio.
Routine execution increasingly moved into workflows rather than relying on staff to manually carry each process forward.
Honest caveats
Automation should not be used to hide a badly defined process.
Where exceptions are frequent or ownership is unclear, the workflow has to be fixed first. The most reliable automations came from processes with explicit rules and clear escalation paths.
